CDU-4 Project Opening Ceremony
During CDU-4 (70) thousand barrel/day) project opening ceremony, Deputy prime minister for energy affairs/ Minister of Oil praised the local effort of workers at South Refineries Company that is able to defeat all the difficulties and challenges faced in the project stages. Also, he mentioned that operating this unit will provide much quantity of oil products, among them, naphtha, gas oil, kerosene, liquid gas…etc., to satisfy a large number of the local need. He pointed out that this project was one of the government plan priorities. This project is implemented by the local effort in a typical period because of failure to complete it by the foreign companies.
As well, Mr. Husam Hussein Wali, Director-General of SRC, said that SRC has fulfilled its obligations towards the government and Ministry of Oil through completing the project within the planned period. This project will raise the total distillation capacity in SRC up to 280 thousand barrel/day.
A number of Messrs Council of Representatives and Basra Governor have attended this opening ceremony.
